hello, i’m back.

did you notice that i was gone?

well i was, i went for a whole weekend. 

watched my little sister graduate, helped throw her a party, crashed for a few hours, and hopped on the highway back here this morning with alyssa and jam. 

i spent the whole four hour drive back today talking and talking and talking

[mostly about everything] 

and taking pictures out the car windows with my cell phone. 

 clouds are nuts.

unliterally, though.

oh.

how’d that get in there?

the point is not that.

the point is that alyssa was feeling especially rambunctious today and couldn’t quite seem to find the right outlet for her caged rebellion, trapped in the small, uncreative confines of my black nissan.

so we pulled over in speedy creek and she had to settle for etching our initials in wet cement with her fingertip.

does that count as vandalism?

if yes, i’m sure she’s sorry.

so i guess we’re a permanent part of this small municipality now. 

it feels good.

anyway. she’s definitely got an outlet now:

our cousin bought some 6 foot beach balls from hong kong that you can crawl inside and run around in like a hamster on its wheel. even better, you can supposedly take it out on the water and run around on top of the waves. she went out to his farm to try them out–

–i was going to go play with them too, but these days my immune system hates fun and laughter, so i’m sitting around here instead.

it’s for the best. because…

i don’t like walking on water, anyways. 

i don’t like fun things.

i’d much rather have carpal tunnel syndrome from typing about fun things.
